An Inconvenient Truth
OK, so i just watched the Global Warming documentary "An Inconvenient Truth". Oh my God. Every person on Earth should watch this movie. The movie makes the concept of, and science behind global warming very simple to understand, and the movie makes it very simple to understand that unless there's a very significant worldwide change in attitudes and actions about global warming, then we are all completely screwed in decades to come. It also enlightened me on how much politicians actually know about this topic, and how little they've done about it. Well, i take that back. It further demonstrates the lengths at which many politicians (and administrations such as the Bush Administration) have gone to paint global warming as a myth. Its not. I was also pleasantly surprised when i went to the movie's website and found many very simple things that i can do to reduce my personal impact on Global Warming. Everyone has to start somewhere, and I cannot expect my government to act upon something if i cannot even make a few simple changes of my own. The website is ClimateCrisis.net I encourage you to see the movie and visit the website. -Ken Lewis
Platinum Once Again!
The new John Legend album "Once Again" has just gone Platinum!!!! I produced a song on the album titled "Another Again". Its a beautiful song, check it out. This is my first Platinum production (i'm very excited about that), also the 42nd album of my career to go either Gold or Platinum, as well as my 22nd #1 album. Its been a really slow year for me for major label credits as i've been working mostly on producing the Small Town Sleeper album which is sounding amazing, but the few credits i've gotten this year have been good ones, including writing and producing on Ghostface Killa's album "Fishscale", as well as creating music and engineering on his new album out today titled "More Fish". I worked on the next single, titled "Good", as well as song called "Blue Armor". I also mixed a song for the Cheetah Girls for their now Platinum "Cheetah Girls 2 Soundtrack". 2007 is gonna be a great year, i can feel it! -Ken Lewis
Sky On Fire
I'm back now from my whirlwind 2 week vacation thru Belgium and France. The break was wonderful and much needed, and of course now i'm back to my regular schedule of 24/7 music. I love it. The last place i visited in France was yet another Medieval village called Cagnes, which is about 10 miles from Nice, France and overlooks the Mediterranean Sea. I had this amazing hotel room with my own terrace, and the sunset pics below were all taken from my terrace my last night in france. The sky looks like its on fire. I did not retouch or photoshop these pics, thats actually what it looked like. I did crop the pics a bit, but thats it. One of the most beautiful sunsets i've ever seen. Some of you might also remember that my favorite living painter is a man named Paul Gantner, and I have a painting of his on my wall that he painted in Cagnes. Hence the reason Cagnes became a stop on my trip. Walking the village, i could definitely feel all around me what inspired his painting. I might post some of my own pics of the village itself, but i have to find one that comes close to capturing it the way Gantner did. In the mean time, enjoy the sunset! -Ken Lewis

More cool places and things. Missing America but loving France. -Ken Carcassonne, France, the largest Medeival Fortress in Europe. Has been preserved and restored to its 13th Century appearance. This city was founded around the 6th century BC, and the current town of Carcassonne in this pic began construction around the 10th Century. This place is surreal. Outter Walls of Carcassonne at night. This is like the fairy tale kingdom. A view of Carcassonne from my hotel Just a cool night shot taken on the streets within the walls around Midnight. Just a pic taken near Font-De-Gaume, France, where the 14,000 year old cave paintings were. Pont Du Gard, France. This is an acient Roman Aqueduct built i think in the 6th century BC by the Romans. Its the tallest structure they ever built. For perspective, look at the tiny people walking across the aqueduct. Gordes, France. Another incredible Medeival city built on the side of a mountain. This picture does not begin to do justice to what it looks like with your own eyes, but its the best shot i took of it. Very cool little town as well and the people were so nice, as they have been this entire trip, everywhere i've gone. Putting my feet in the Mediterranean Sea on a beach in St Tropez, France. Yes its December and the water was freezing, but there's no way i'm gonna finally make it to the Mediterranean and not get wet. Driving up the Azur Coast on the way to Cagnes. This is one of many beautiful shots. I'm in Cagnes, now. Cagnes is incredible. More pics later.
Belgium / France Picture Gallery
Here's a few shots from my current adventures thru Europe. Right now i'm in an internet cafe in Carcassonne, France. Wait til i post pics of this place!! In the mean time, i hope you enjoy these. When you think of a "Castle", this is it. Gent, Belgium This is a massive Medeival Cathedral in Chartres, France, built i think in the 12th Century Chateau at Chambourd, France - a home of Kings. Look at the people in the lower left for perspective on how massive this 440 room Chateau is. Me in Blois, France. I love walking the hidden backstreets of old places. Blois was great for that. Chateau at Chenonceau, France. A french king built this for his Mistress. no joke. Me in the Medeival village of St Emilion, which was founded in the 7th Century. My camera takes awesome night shots! The tower in the background was built in the 13th Century. The view out my hotel window in St Emilion, across the wine fields of Bordeaux Rooftops of St Emilion, France. Charm everywhere you look. This place was amazing, I'd highly recommend it. Rocamadour, France. A Medeival fortified village and cathedral built on the side of a mountain. Truly where eagles dare. While i was up here, 2 French Mirage Fighter jets flew overhead very low. This is me at the top of Rocamadour, i should have posted a pic looking out across the cliffs. Enjoy! Ken Lewis
