March Madness
Not Basketball! March Madness could describe my life in general right now. Wow, so many cool things happening, where do i begin. The weather is kinda crappy here right now. just cant make up its mind. Yesterday i was doing 125mph flying up the Parkway with the top down on a beautiful sunny afternoon (quite a rush i assure you), today its rain rain and it wont go away. Last week it was 80 degrees one day and snowing like crazy the next. ugh. I get to go to Florida next week for 2 days of very important meetings on some stuff i produced. Send me your good vibes!
Currently, I'm working with Kanye West on a super secret, "I could tell you but then I'd have to ki...." well, you get the idea. All i can tell you is its COMPLETELY different than anything i think anyone would expect, and I'm having a great time working with him on it.
Next. In other "wow some really cool shhhh just happened to another production client of mine" times 2.
Aussie rockers XtortYa just had a song they hired me to produce and mix included in the new "FreeRider MX" DVD. Don't ask me exactly what it is, but it sounds pretty cool. I think its like one of those extreme sports motocross type DVD's, perfect for this music. The song is titled "I Need U" but could be better described as full on rock mixed with loops and various other noises and sounds. Pretty cool stuff and i had a blast producing it. Anyway, The FreeRider MX DVD has a distribution of about 30,000 copies, holy cow thats not bad, and XtortYa's video for "I Need U" is a bonus feature included on the DVD as well. AND... if that wasnt cool enough Suzuki Motorcycles is using "I Need U" for their new promotional campaigns.
I just finished producing and mixing a 6 song EP for NYC indie rockers Man On Earth The Album release party is this weekend when they open for Kill Hanna and Strata in NYC, but even cooler is that their lead off song "Something Better" will be included in the new FMQB CD Sampler, which usually contains all the hottest signed buzz indie rock bands. This time it contains one of the hottest as yet unsigned buzz bands!! I think the record turned out amazing, I'll be posting clips soon. In the mean time, their awesome song "Here We Are" is spinning on their myspace page, check it out!
Plenty of other good projects coming thru, but i cant blog about everything. Currently working on projects from Germany, Canada, Australia, Iceland, United Kingdom, and all over America. And i just landed a great gig working with a heavy modern rock band on In De Goot Records named "Glass Intrepid". Much more on that later. Times are good!
