VIDEO BLOG #1 - Small Town Sleeper - Day 6
At long last, i figured out (kind of) how to video blog. I wanted to reduce the file size of this blog as low as possible so that more people can download it. If your on a dial up, forget it. Its still 43 meg.
Question. Would ya'll like a but higher res video and audio in exchange for a much bigger file size?
Anyway, please give me feedback, good, bad or otherwise. I'll be working to make this process smoother on my end (you have no idea what it took to get this thing done). This video blog goes into visual detail about what i've been talking about with recording drums for Small Town Sleeper. It covers mic choice, mic placement, my own personal mic'ing techniques, etc..
Hope they help you.

Finally!!!...
To answer your question...Yes, higher video and audio res would be great.
Overall, very informative (as always)
Looking forward to more.
Higher res would be great..Good stuff!! -tf
This video blogging rocks!
And higher res would be great.
I don't know how much trouble it would be, but maybe having two options, one high res. and one low res., would be the best way to accommodate more people. Just my thoughts...
BTW, I want to thank you for the blogs concerning this album. I don't know very much at all about recording, engineering, producing, etc., but having a personal connection with STS, I find it all very interesting. Between Troy's and your own blogs, you are allowing the fans, friends, and family that have been behind them for so long to share this experience, and for that I thank you.

I just wanna say that we tried our D112, fully inside the kick (it's ported), and the NTK (Thanks for the idea Ken), about one and a half feet back, this evening... Oh yeah, we built a house around it all too..
SOUNDED AWESOME! It was profusely cool... Thanks again.. And keep it comin'...

Thanks Ken, Youre puttin in MAD work !! Looking forward to the video blog on sample recreation !!!!! Stay motivated . Peace
lovin the video blog!!...very informative...pretty intertesting selection of mics and placement (gotta try that EV placement...sounds pretty cool).
Please put higher resolution. I'll wait for the download, it's that worth it.
And thanks again Ken for all of this.
I couldn't agree more with Rich. It gives us a little insight into what goes into a musical masterpiece, and it keeps us from feeling so disconnected.
Blogging suggestions.. try to keep yourself close to the mic.. there are places you fade out and it's kind of a mumble and a guess as to what you are talking about. Other than that, it looks good.
Ken, you are awesome!!! Thanks for what you do and yes, higher video and audio!!!
